Capitalism pits property against people; for property to win, people must lose.

As matter falls into a black hole, the theory of relativity disintegrates. So too with capitalism, without proper restraints, it eventually tears the fabric of humane society apart. When we base too many things on the successful theory of capitalism, there must be an equal and opposite countering effect in some other area. Massive numbers of the poor are required by the theory to give capitalism its highest levels of success to a few. While the pie can grow bigger, the forces of property ownership in the capitalist theory will always remove the great bulk of the winnings from the people. Meritocracy at the bottom becomes almost futile because the path upward narrows precipitously, culling millions. The laws of capitalism cannot allow many winners, so the granular, meritocratic masses, cannot overcome capitalism’s destructive forces, and reductionist agenda for everyone else.

The top 0.1% own about as much as the bottom 90%.

“In all of the estimates discussed here, top wealth shares in the United States are very high and increasing over time,”– the Federal Reserve-University of Pennsylvania group wrote in their 2016 article.
