Minnesota has had a long tradition of traditions. My adopted state’s tradition of traditions began with the lynching of 38 Dakota Sioux in 1862 Mankato. Four thousand White gawkers came to see the spectacle of over three dozen men die for protecting their home from covered-wagon caravans of savage European squatters. Thousands of northern Minnesotans extended the tradition in 1920 with the lynching of three Black men in Duluth. The same reactive Minnesota raging racists, and raiding rights, party is still unwelcoming to those who do not comport with their barbaric murdering hordes, and blatant border trespassing, ancestors’ version of things.

Review some of the faces of those smiling in the lynching pictures, and you will see the familiar outlines in today’s Minnesota Republican faces. Mary Kiffmeyer, Paul Gazelka, Mark Johnson, Rich Draheim, and Scott Newman will assuredly deny this, and plead that they are only protecting their pure of flesh, White suburban daughters from defilement by mere circus workers, or the scalping of their innocent savage gated-neighborhood, squatter neighbors, by the original inhabitants of Minnesota.
