A 34% conservative minority is undermining our moderate to liberal nation.

“If a single statute represents the best of America, it is the Voting Rights Act. … If a single statute represents the worst of America, it is the Voting Rights Act. In contrast, Chief Justice John Roberts, the ahistorical champion of White privilege and denial, gutted the VRA in 2013.

In general, there is nothing wrong with being conservative. Liberals, conservatives, etc. all have good and bad ideas. My parents were very conservative [Irish and Polish] Catholics, two-issue voters: anti-abortion, and anti-gay marriage. While I often disagreed vehemently with their takes on those two issues and others, they had a right to their beliefs and policy stances. Our democracy allows, and should allow, many voices and votes, otherwise we would stagnate in a cesspool of extreme, self-congratulatory incontinence and complacency.

That said, nor should political minority status afford your party ongoing autocratic powers. The U.S. Senate has had this type of minority power to install their judges, and stall our future, for two decades, allowing conservative presidents to have out-sized control.
